Description : The Scope of Works is for the upgrade of Cannonvale sewerage pump station 1 (CSPS1).The pump station and sewer infrastructure has been assessed by Council and are deemed to be in need of capital construction upgrade works in order to meet the desired service and design life. Council intends to upgrade and augment the pump station system to result in an asset with a renewed life expectancy whilst improving the operability and maintainability of the system.All sewage from the areas of Shute Harbour, Jubilee Pocket, Airlie Beach and Cannonvale are pumped to and treated at the Cannonvale Sewage Treatment Plant (CSTP), located in William Murray Drive, Cannonvale.The eastern sewage collection network (sewer reticulation zones east of the CSTP) were originally designed to operate as a cascading system, pumping from one pump station to the next, eventually being pumped to the CSTP by one pump station, that being CSPS1. Development in the catchment area has put increasing demand on the capacity of the individual pump stations in this system and the cascading configuration is not considered viable in the long term.The Cannonvale combined rising main, ‘combined system, is a single 8, 000m long DN225/DN375/DN450 sewer rising main. The main starts at Jubilee Pocket SPS1 (JSPS1) and follows the Coastline to the CSTP. Eight separate SPS s located in Jubilee Pocket, Airlie Beach and Cannonvale discharge into the main before discharging to the CSTP. CSPS1 is located at 123 Shute Harbour Road on Lot 159HR1539. The existing dual wet well pump station system and gravity sewer system was originally constructed in the 1970 s where it initially pumped to an adjacent STP located on Lot 160HR1539. In the late 1980 s the pump station was augmented to pump to the current CSTP location, the original adjacent STP was dismantled in the late 2000 s. In the early 1990 s the system was converted to a wet well/dry well system with a new pumping dry well constructed.As part of the process to augment the system Council is upgrading each individual pump station to be capable of pumping into the combined system whilst also renewing the life expectancy of the infrastructure.
