3D Cameras - Market Engagement

Kent Fire & Rescue Service (KFRS) are undertaking a project to explore the potential use of new technology to support and improve our awareness and understanding of site specific risk information (SSRI) of complex and higher risk premises.



The use of 3D mapping tools and software allows for complex premises to be scanned and an electronic ‘model- created which will support current risk information and tactical planning documents which include photographic pictures, floor plans, and geographical mapping imagery. There is an opportunity to create 3D maps as well as a ‘walkthrough- function.



The key benefits KFRS are seeking to achieve are:



Improved SSRI product with more detail and 3D spatial mapping of risk sites



Improved understanding of risk information within Kent and cross border



Enhanced materials for on station training and preparedness around SSRI sites with technology enhanced learning



Enhanced information available during an operational incident through MDT and officer remote support- for incidents at SSRI sites



Reduced requirement for operational response to conduct on site visits of SSRI locations.



Ability to share 3D risk information of Kent risk sites to cross border FRS-
