General work description:Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) has been awarded funding from the Maryland Center for School Safety (MCSS) to support the creation of uniform school mapping data for utilization by first responders and emergency services as well as school personnelFCPS is seeking a vendor to produce uniform, floor-aware maps of 71* FCPS schools in both Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information System (GIS) file types with sub-meter accuracy. These maps must show all features within the building as well as on the site. Maps must be drawn to scale, and field verification of maps must be completed by walking each building and site. Metadata must be developed for the GIS element of the project. As required by the Grant, all elements of these maps must comply with the standards set forth in Maryland-s Interagency on School Construction (IAC) School Mapping Standards (Appendix A).FCPS already has draft CAD drawings of the facilities included in this project. FCPS is seeking a vendor who can clean and verify these CAD drawings, which includes adding all features that are required under the IAC-s School Mapping Standards (Appendix A), ensuring that all elements of the indoor map are floor-aware, validating topology of interior walls and structures, ensuring accurate scale, and validating accuracy of the drawings by walking the building and site. Upon completion of editing and verifying CAD drawings, the vendor is expected to georeference these maps into FCPS- preferred GIS software platform to ultimately be shared with our Public Safety partners at Frederick County Government for use in their emergency services software. FCPS currently has the ArcGIS Pro Advanced license and has access to the ArcGIS Indoors application through our partners at Frederick County Government. One or both of these platforms must be used to display GIS file types of the finalized floor plans.
