Tender are invited for Develop a 1 GW Empire Offshore Wind Project, intending to erect 80 to 100 turbines. Each turbine is expected to have an installed capacity of 10-15 MW.




Notes : 09/20/18 - Update : Equinor will start to submit applications to build offshore wind facilities in federal waters. The New Jersey Board of public utilities has unanimously approved an order opening an application window for 1, 100 MW of offshore wind capacity. The 1, 100 MW is the nation's largest single-state solicitation of offshore wind to date and is the first step in meeting the state's goal of 3, 500 MW of offshore wind by 2030.06/18 - Update : Statoil expected to submit site assessment plan to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) by mid 2018.BID DATE NOT YET ESTABLISHED. PLEASE NOTE THIS INFORMATION IS INCOMPLETE AND IS FOR GENERAL PURPOSES ONLY. INTERESTED PRIME CONTRACTORS NOT ALREADY PREQUALIFIED WITH THE OWNER MAY WANT TO SEEK PREQUALIFICATION FOR THIS AND OTHER PROJECTS. The commercial lease was signed in March 2017, following the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) successful auction in December 2016.Site assessment and characterization studies and surveys are scheduled to start spring 2018.BOEM requires submission of a COP within five years. Empire Wind can generate power as early as the mid-2020s.
