Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE), in cooperation with the Biodiversity Conservation Agency (BCA), Viet Nam Environmental Agency (VEA), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) and Thua Thien Hue and Thai Binh provinces, is implementing a UNDP- GEF funded project entitled "Conservation of Critical Wetland Protected Areas and Linked Landscapes"- (Wetland CA) over a period from 2015 to 2018. The project provides technical assistance to the Government of Vietnam (GoV) to establish new wetland protected areas and to create capacities for their effective management to mitigate existing and emerging threats from connected landscapes. Project component are as follows: Component 1of the project will address gaps and weaknesses in the current PA system, institutional capacity and the current policy and regulatory framework in relation to wetlands conservation.
