The country of Albania gained its independence in the year 1912. It is also known as the Republic of Albania. It is a mountainous country with rugged plains. It has an estimated population of 3,020, 209 people, with its capital at Tirana. Albania is the member of the United Nations, NATO and the Organization of the Security and Co-Operation in Europe, the Council of Europe and the World Trade Organization. In the year 2013the socialist party won the national elections. It is a parliamentary republic country and in June 2014 it became the official candidate for accession to the European Union. Bujar Nishani is the present president of the country who was elected by the Parliament in the year 2012. The country of Albania has got 12 administrative counties and 373 municipalities. There are approximately 2980 villages and communities with 72 municipalities having city status. Albania has a middle-upper class income and economical status. The service sector dominates the country’s economy followed by the agriculture and the industrial sector. The GDP (PPP) in the year 2015 is estimated to be 32,259 USD while the per capita income has risen to $11,700. The GDP (Nominal) has reached 14,520 USD in the year 205, while the per capita income $5,261. The capital city of Tirana is also the financial capital of the country. Albania’s economy is largely based on the free market capitalism. The investments in different sectors have increased markedly and the power cuts are reduced to such a level that the country is exporting electricity now. Agriculture is the most significant sector contributing 21% GDP of the nation. The main agricultural products are wheat, corn, tobacco, olives and figs. Albania also has a huge deposit of natural gas and petroleum estimating a production of 30 million cubic metric tons. It has also got large deposits of iron ore, bauxite, coal and copper. Tourism has dramatically increased by 740% in the last 7 years giving the economy a very positive boost. The various beaches, capes and the coves are the main tourist attraction in this country. The improving transport and network of roads is helping the neighboring countries to connect more easily, thereby increasing the travel and tourism in Albania. In the following year, the country of Albania aspires to strengthen its economical growth based on increased business investments in the industrial sector as well as improving the education and the employment sector.
