Synopsis: This is a notice of intent to proceed with a sole source requirement beneath the simplified acquisition threshold ($250, 000). The contractor is American Science and Engineering, located in Billerica, MA. The contractor will be responsible for providing proprietary training on its Z-portal scanners in Laredo, TX for image analysts.The Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1). Only one source is deemed reasonably available. This notice is being provided per FAR 5.101(a)(1), 5.201(b)(1)(i), and 5.207. Market research has found no other vendor with licensing to provide this training.Vendors that believe they can meet these requirements for this acquisition or in the future may respond to this notice. The response should contain a brief description of the vendor`s capability. Please also include the size of your business (large or small) and recent examples of similar work.Any vendor who wishes to submit information for this requirement should email their information to the attention of Nathan Briggs at nathan.p.briggs@cbp.dhs.gov.
