Gender is an important strategic theme for IFC. Central to IFCs gender work is helping clients build robust business performance by making them aware of, and invest in, the value women can bring either as a defined consumer segment, as employees, as business leaders or as entrepreneurs and suppliers. IFCs commitment to advancing gender equality is anchored in the business case and client demand for gender-smart solutions. IFC continues to stimulate and respond to market demand by expanding womens access to credit, saving, housing, and insurance products, by advising companies on their workforce and talent management, and by building the capacity of women in supply chains and as entrepreneurs through SME financing and a new entrepreneurship training curriculum.
The IFC Pacific Gender team works with IFC clients and networks of private sector firms in PNG, Solomon Islands and Fiji to demonstrate the business case for investing in gender equality and providing tools and support to businesses to realize business benefits, while improving the lives of women and their households. The team will soon also start working in the small Pacific Island Countries (PICs include: Federal States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu).
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this assignment is to develop an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) accredited competency-based train-the-trainer (ToT) on Workplace Responses to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and to deliver the ToT to 30 to 40 participants in the Pacific.
SCOPE OF WORK
The firm will work closely with the IFC Pacific Gender team to develop and deliver the ToT on Workplace Responses to GBV to 30 to 40 participants in the Pacific based on IFC materials including good practice examples of policies and procedures, guidance notes, training materials, behavioural change communications and monitoring and evaluation tools.
It is envisaged that ToT participants be recruited to attend the training directly from IFC/World Bank funded projects, through national and regional human resource institutes, chambers of commerce, industry associations, and GBV organizations. IFC and the selected firm will work together to recruit participants. Many participants will not be professional trainers; therefore, the curriculum will need to include a module on participatory training methodologies and delivering competency-based training and assessment.
