Project Description : Continual improvement is an integral component of Alberta-s Wildfire Management Program. The department of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Economic Development (AFRED) maintains a strong interest in exploring innovative technology and emerging processes and procedures to enhance efficiencies and seek cost effective solutions. Suppression of wildfires involves a variety of equipment and resources, both ground-based and aerial platforms, functioning in remote locations within a complex and dangerous environment that is continually changing. These resources must be reliable, resilient, robust and cost effective in order to be of value to the wildfire management program.The objective of this Request For Information (RFI) is to collect information about innovative technology, equipment, resources or services that are currently available in the marketplace that could help suppress and extinguish wildfires throughout the Province of Alberta. The Province is seeking information specific to innovative technology, equipment, resources or services that will help supplement current wildfire suppression activities; the RFI is not intended to collect information on equipment or resources currently under contract or used in wildfire management operations (e.g., vendors that hold or have recently held wildfire Fireline and mobile equipment contracts).Appendix A includes specific questions and subjects that a...
