Tender Details

Tenders are invited for The USAID/Uganda Strategic Investment Activity.

Bid Date & Time: 12/04/20 9:00 AM

Scope: The purpose of the USAID/Uganda Strategic Investments Activity (the Activity) is to facilitate commercial investments that yield and advance development objectives. This Activity seeks to facilitate development-related transactions and engagements to catalyze varying forms of investment capital including, but not limited to, local and international equity investors, entrepreneurs, pension funds, banks, impact funds, endowments, insurance firms, high-net-worth individuals, the diaspora, and development finance institutions. The Activity will put less emphasis on traditional banks and focus more on equity, national, and multinational corporate expansion capital, growth capital, and other forms of less traditional investment capital. Traditional banks are typically risk averse and asynchronous with development-related industries. They require collateral amounts that are restrictive, offer interest rates that are punitive to borrowers, limit terms to periods that are shorter than business operation cycles, and ultimately inhibit growth potential. The Activity intends to recognize the importance of traditional banks and work collaboratively to address the restrictions but will emphasize catalyzing the higher risk growth capital that encourages growth and development.
