Tenders are invited for Update of the EUROCONTROL Generic Safety Management Manual.

TASKS OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE

The objective is to update and improve the EUROCONTROL Safety Management Manual EGSMM published in October 2009. The update and improvement shall ensure continuous transfer of knowledge and best practices in the management of safety and in the implementation of safety management systems. Thus sharing safety culture and ease the harmonisation of practices in safety management, maintaining current level of knowledge in safety according to new safety approaches and methods taking into account current EU Regulatory framework and ICAO referential.

There are two (2) main deliverables:

- new version of the EUROCONTROL Generic Safety Management Manual

- e-EUROCONTROL Generic Safety Management Manual structure

There are three (3) main areas of work:

- changes in legislation applicable in EGSMM

- changes in safety approach and operations of safety management and management systems

- interface with the Regulator and the National Supervisory Authority Challenges are to move from the current structure and content of the EUROCONTROL Generic Safety Management Manual to Safety Performance based approach and then to a Collaborative Risk Decision Making CDRM concept for the management of risks.

The evolution of the EGSMM shall keep its current pragmatic approach centred on the implementation of Safety Management Systems and make intense promotion of EUROCONTROL safety materials.
