Traffic Camera Services?

To ensure the State meets its objectives under the Towards Zero (Road Safety) Strategy, Victoria Police, VicRoads, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and Department of Justice and Regulation (Department) work in partnership to develop a range of initiatives to meet road safety challenges. ?

To support this important initiative, the Department is seeking an organisation to manage on its behalf the following Traffic Camera Services (TCS):?

mobile operations which includes the deployment and maintenance of mobile cameras ?

verification and processing of incidents recorded by the fixed and mobile road safety cameras?

verification and processing of incidents recorded by the tolling offence cameras?

the continuing support of technology and processes required to maintain the State-s road safety objectives?

ensuring the interface to all necessary third party systems (including the Victorian Infringement Enforcement Warrant System) is maintained and operational at all times.?

For context, the TCS are a critical service for the Department in regards to scale and importance in that it equates to the following high level statistics:?

the output of TCS produces approximately 2.6 million infringements per annum?

this delivers over $500m of fines for the Department to collect on behalf of the State?

the incumbent currently requires approximately 300 staff to deliver these services.?
