Description : Toy Making Project Goal and Objectives

Goals of Toy Making Project:



Revise a selected toy making book and develop a toolbox for community level training on making and using developmentally appropriate toys using natural and recycled materials, as cost-effective and sustainable resources for play-based early stimulation and early learning; and

Develop capacity of district level trainers (NGO/INGO staff, local ECD experts, craftsmen such as carpenters and tailors, etc.) to train caregivers (parents and other caregivers), community ECD workers, Mothers Support Group (MSG) members, youth leaders, craftsmen, etc. on making and using developmentally appropriate toys to promote play-based early stimulation and early learning among young children.

Objectives of Toy Making Project:



A set of three new toy making booklets "Fun Toys for Young Children Learning through Playing" with a set of six posters developed and field tested, by revising the book "Toys for Fun A book of toys for pre-school children" (Child to Child, 1988).

A toolbox for community level training on toy making developed, piloted, and finalized, on the basis of the three new toy making booklets and six posters, for hands-on training on toy making for caregivers, community ECD workers, MSG members, youth leaders, and craftsmen.
