Description: Current preliminary design of the COMPASS-U tokamak support structure assumes the total weight of this supporting structure of about 200 tons, consisting of 32 main components of machined stainless steel whose weight ranges from 1 to 8 tons and whose dimensions are specified below. Furthermore, they are part of the current preliminary design of the components with tens of kilograms, it is a vertical rib (64 pcs), horizontal ribs (96 pieces) and main interconnection screws (64 pcs); The proposal also includes hundreds of small components with weights in kilogram units.

Most components will be machined in conventional tolerances and as the main material of the supporting structure, the AISI 304 stainless steel was selected, or equivalent with a guaranteed yield strength of 250 MPa at 22 ° C with a temperature expansion coefficient of 17x10-6 / K. Inconel 625, copper C10200, FPMOTTEXTE G10 or equivalent thereof are used as other supplementary materials of some components.
