Description: The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to stimulate clinical research that examines the role of telomeres in wellness and disease, and to advance the incorporation of telomere studies into biobehavioral programs of research. A body of research has demonstrated the contribution of telomeres to health-related outcomes; however, additional studies are needed to achieve the full potential for incorporating telomere-guided approaches for maintaining wellness, reducing the risk and burden of disease, and for advancing symptom and self-management strategies.
