Description: The fiber optic connections in the Elia network are of the order of size of 3 types:

- Underground optical connection made by placing an HDPE tube in a slot and / or a borehole followed by blowing a conventional or cable in the HDPE tube.

- Optical air connection made by placing a shed cable or a cable that is wrapped between the HV line towers. The optical air connection is terminated on the two final teases of the HV line. The overhead line is extended with an underground connection to the building.

- a combined air and underground connection of the two previous types and is used for cable / line transitions.
