Description : The World Health Organization (WHO) invites vendors to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for technical cooperation within the framework of a new global initiative, the "Global Patient Safety Collaborative (GPSC)", that was established in view of the importance of patient safety within the overall context of universal health coverage (UHC), and aims to increase international collaborative action among partners and countries. Main objective of the GPSC is to secure and scale up global action on patient safety as well as to work in close collaboration with low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) in their quest to reduce the risk of avoidable harm and improve the safety of national health systems. This collaborative model was established by the joint efforts of the WHO and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The technical cooperation project aims to address the following objectives:
Strengthen leadership to prioritize and establish patient safety systems, promote patient safety culture and engage patients and communities;
Develop competent, skilled and compassionate health workforce through inter-professional education and training in patient safety;
Promote research, build research capacities and support evidence-based policy processes in patient safety.
