Expression of Interest are invited for Survey Firm for Study on Welfare Impact of Regulatory Restrictions Affecting Cross-Border in Lao PDR.

The World Bank is seeking to hire a firm to implement a survey on informal trade and household welfare based on agreed design and instruments provided by the World Bank task team. Data collection will be collected in 4 provinces (Louangnamtha, Savanakhet, Saiyabouly and Champasack) in villages around international borders. The survey is conducted face to face and involves a combination of household and traders interviews.

Eligibility restrictions apply:
Firms must have a local presence in Lao PDR

Qualifications
The survey firm must have demonstrated at least 3 years of experience in undertaking household surveys in Lao PDR, capabilities to quickly mobilize and deploy a large number of enumerators with short notice in Lao PDR and have the necessary equipment and expertise to use and deploy surveys in tablet form
Project management team must have (1) a team leader with at least 7 years of experience managing large scale data collection at the household level, with experience of implementing a consumption module an added advantage (2) a data entry team with demonstrated proficiency in programming and implementing data entry in computer (including mobile and tablet devices) assisted data collection platform s and familiar with STATA or other statistical packages, (3) Proficiency in English and Lao
The core business of the qualified firms must be in undertaking surveys and socio-economic research for at least 5 years in developing countries.


SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The World Bank Group now invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

Only those firms which have been shortlisted will receive notification. No debrief will be provided to firms which have not been shortlisted.
