Tenders are invited for Support consultant to the regional programme ‘Strengthening Women in Decision Making in the Middle East- (LEAD) in Lebanon.

In realization of the objectives of this assignment, the consultant shall work under the close guidance of the LEAD team Lebanon and in collaboration with the LEAD team regional, as well as the regional consultancy company EAF, which supports the establishment of the regional project.

The main task of the consultant will be the close support and the accompaniment of the participants, the tandems and the whole group of mentors and mentees. The consultant will be responsible to support the group in setting up networking events, giving input and advice. This includes giving conceptual inputs and analysis in terms of announcement and information about the mentoring, active participants- selection and their support, cooperation with stakeholders, support of mentoring trainings and setting up networking activities, the organization of get together meetings, small workshops or trainings etc.





The service provider shall render the following services:

Understanding of mentoring: Participate in a webinar and a half day workshop in Jordan (along with the kick-off of the Mentoring Project, tentatively in September 2018, TBC), to be able to inform about the programme

Prepare a call for participation in the Regional Mentoring Project for Lebanon, in close collaboration with GIZ-LEAD project staff and the regional consultants, and advertise for the Project (following GIZ-s communication guidelines).

Identify and pre-select potential participants by (co-)assessing the received applications

Matchmaking the mentor/mentee tandems through interviews and meetings; officially invite the selected pairs to participate in the Project.

Prepare short written participation terms for mentee/mentor and arrange the formal agreement (signing) before the start of activities.

Prepare, organize and implement networking events in Lebanon (content-wise, the coordination of the participants, and partially logistics, with the support of the LEAD team), as follows:

Kick-off event bringing together the 12 mentors and 12 mentees in order to launch the process and to prepare them for the first regional activity that will take place in Jordan, together with the mentoring tandems from Palestine and Jordan

2-3 networking events in Lebanon to support and review the mentoring process, evaluate the progress, empower the participants and their collaboration, provide workshops or organize skill trainings and prepare the participants for the regional mid-term event and the final event.

Closing event in Lebanon.

Participate in and support 2 regional workshops that will take place in Jordan bringing together the mentors and mentees from Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon:

Kick-off event (including half training day for coordinators) - tentatively in September 2018, to be confirmed

Mid-term event, - tentatively in November 2018, to be confirmed

Continuously monitor the Mentoring Project; identify (potential) disturbances or obstacles and inform GIZ LEAD immediately about any developments that (may) influence the course of the Project, its timing, budget, content, participants and impacts or that may have an impact on GIZ-s work

Mediate among the mentors/mentees when and where needed, in previous agreement with GIZ LEAD

Networking: Ensure continuous communication with and among the participants, support the tandems in identifying and planning activities, follow-up with the tandems

Communicate with the regional mentoring advisory company and with GIZ LEAD project staff for coordination and follow up on all activities and deliverables

Reporting on the progress, process and the outcomes (weekly short updates per mail and a final report at the end of the mentoring)



All steps and activities undertaken by the consultant require continuous agreement with and previous approval by GIZ LEAD.
