Tenders are invited for Supply of Solar PV Systems for Tabuaeran and Teraina Island Councils and Select Island Schools.

The ACSE project is a European Union (EU) funded project administered by Geutsche Gesellschaft Fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The Pacific Community (SPC) is an implementation partner to the Government of Kiribati ACSE Sustainable Energy project; Solar Hybrid Systems in Boarding Schools, thus provides financial and technical support on the implementation of the project. The project has six outputs, solar PV system design, procurement and installation, training, governance, community ownership and monitoring and evaluation.

The objective of the ACSE - Sustainable Energy project is cost-effectiveness and efficient of energy systems are improved and dependency on fossil fuels is reduced. The outcomes are that two solar PV hybrid systems installed, each one sustainable operated and effectively operated meeting the current and predicted future energy needs/demand of the two rural boarding school and communities. To achieve the objective and outcomes, proper energy needs assessments and engineering works (civil, electrical and mechanical) for the power systems are initially designed that includes a gender perspective.
