The object of the contract is the preparation of the required studies for the Dereiou Dam N. Evros, in order to approve the project's environmental conditions. The Dereio dam provides an important project for both local and national development, since it achieves:

Irrigation of important agricultural areasof land from Didymoteicho to Alexandroupolis, in the order of 400, 000 thousand acres

Flood protection of the areas downstream of the dam, including the city of Didymoteicho, with control of flood runoff.
