Specialist Mining, Surface Subsidence and Geotechnical Consultancy advice and services in respect of underground mining activities at Milldam mine, Great Hucklow, Peak District National Park

Description : The tender is for the provision of specialist consultancy advice and services to be undertaken on behalf of the Peak District National Park Authority ('the Authority'), as Mineral Planning Authority (MPA), in relation to underground mining operations at Milldam Mine, Great Hucklow. The works are required to enable the Authority to assess whether possible enforcement proceedings need to be instigated in relation to the operations of the mine. The work involves reviewing technical information submitted by the mine operator to the Authority in respect of the current operations and mining methodologies employed at the mine. It will require an assessment of the information in the context of the current relevant planning permission and recent surface subsidence events, providing a critique of the adequacy of current mining methods in respect of ensuring surface land stability. Any recommendations for future working and best practice measures required to ensure future land stability and avoidance/minimisation of ground subsidence shall be provided within the context of the scope and conditions of the existing planning permission and the General Permitted Development Order 2015 (GPDO).
