AgDiv aims to promote sustainable resiliency strategies that reduce the need for
continued food aid in Malawi a review of evidence indicates that food shortages are due to a combination of consistent stressors which keep baseline food production
low, and barriers that prevent the adoption of shock mitigation strategies To sustainably address these factors, agdiv fosters inclusive and sustainable growth in Malawi`s agriculture sector, enhancing resilience to climate change, empower woman, and improve the nutritional status of women and children, while simultaneously increasing the competitiveness of Materable, nutrient-rich value chains through support for agricultural enterprises and increased access to markets and finance.

Description of Assignment
Thematic Area 3 of AgDiv promotes dietary diversity, especially among women and children through integration of nutrition, sensitive agriculture targeting soybean, Orange Flesh Sweet Potato (OFSP) and groundnut value chains. Soybean s targeted because it is an affordable source of protein and soybean processing into soymilk is a healthy nutrition and livelihood alternative for households for rural Malawian communities.
