This is a special notice prepared in accordance with federal acquisition regulation (far) 5.2 - synopses of proposed contract actions. The contracting office for this notice is the office of acquisitions, national institute for environmental health science, research triangle park, nc.
The national institute of environmental health sciences (niehs), office of acquisitions (oa) intends to award a single source purchase order to integra biosciences corp., 2 wentworth drive, hudson, nh 03061 for the purchase of six (6) viaflo pipette bluetooth module (item number 4221), one (1) assist plus base unit (item number 4505), one (1) assist plus basic pm program (item 990071) and one (1) installation and training for assist plus (item 999118).
The pipettes system is highly specialized and only available from integra biosciences corp. This item has the following unique capabilities which meet the government's requirements:
the system should be capable of a liquid pipetting robot which would allow niehs scientists to handle large pipetting tasks particularly into 384-well plates for single cell transcriptomic analysis. The equipment is sold and serviced exclusively by integra biosciences corp. The assist has unique features including integra viaflo pipettes used in conjunction with the assist feature griptip tip fitting for zero issues with tips loosing, leaking or falling off. The bluetooth compatibility allows the pipette to communicate to the assist wirelessly. The assist provides hands free allowing the pipette to aspirate and dispense at the same speed, angle and touch off point every time.
The anticipated period of performance will be 30 to 45 days after receipt of order.
The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 u.s.c. 253(c)(1) and far 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
