Expression of Interest are invited for Situation Assessment for Monitoring Nature-Based Solutions and Ecosystem Services in Productive Landscapes in Costa Rica

The World Bank is Providing Technical Assistance to the Government of Costa Rica on its Agenda Agroambiente. In this Context, the World Bank is Issuing a Time-Bound Consultancy to Support Strengthening the Use and Coordination of Spatially Explicit Data for an Expanded Payments for Ecosystem Services Program. The Main Objective of this Consultancy is Threefold:
1. To Conduct a Rapid Situation Assessment regarding the Monitoring of Ecosystem Services, Land Use, Land Cover and Forest Change, and Soil Carbon;
2. To Assess and Recommend How to Strengthen the Existing System to be More Effectively Collect and Analyze Spatially Explicit Data that can be Used to Monitor a Variety of Forest, Agricultural and Ecosystem Services (this Section would Also Draw on Readily Available Information on International Good Practice); And
3. To Identify and Recommend Any Capacity and Information Transfer Requirements to Use the Recommended System to Enforce Pes Agreements or Land Use Agreements between Private and Public Owners and Minae or Mag.
