Tenders are invited for Short term Social Stability Provider (STSSP) for Photography.
Introduction
SIF has been present in Lebanon since 2012, implementing projects aiming at providing assistance to the Syrian refugee populations affected by the conflict in Lebanon as well as Vulnerable Lebanese host community. Through child protection projects, basic assistance and food security, SIF contributes to the improvement of the well-being of the children and their families.
In response to the current crisis in Syria, SIF extended its humanitarian response with social stability workshops aiming to engage youth through activities that encourage peace, intercultural dialogue and respect for diversity in a safe environment where they develop emotional stability while making new friendships.
In view of the operation scale up, SIF is currently recruiting a Short Term Social Stability provider in photography to provide workshop in Beirut district.
The STSSP will be under the line management of the Social Stability Officer, or his designee.
1. MISSION CONTEXT
Support and strengthen protection for children, adolescents and caregivers amongst the Syrian-Crisis affected population as well spread the peace and reconciliation themes and promote social cohesion.
1. OBJECTIVE OF THE PROVIDER MISSION
General Objective
The general objective of the workshop is to improve the social behaviour and personal expression for around 20 youth.
Specific objectives
· Sketch techniques
· Training course in capturing elements of any object into simple lines
· Scenography departments and the variety of the artistic techniques to create a photo
· Photography with mobile phones, indoor and outdoor photos
· Analyzation of photos
· Imagine activities in order to build sceneries for the photos
· Offer learning experiences of the highest standards possible, irrespective of gender, ethnic background, age or disability
· Each session is 90 minutes
· Improve social behavior, personal expression, imagination and communication skills which helps in dealing with personal conflicts
· Final exhibition with photos and sketches
· Create tools to measure the impact of the activities (pre-posttest, focus group discussions)
S/He will create an environment where beneficiaries develop a sense of belonging, an experience of mutual sharing, and a possibility of building new relationships.
S/he will provide experiences covering the full range of individual strengths and abilities through activities offering the highest standards possible, irrespective of gender, ethnic background, age or disability.
1. Reporting mechanisms
Report directly to the Social Stability Officer
S/he will submit the following reports at the end of the training sessions:
· Liaising regularly with social stability officer to guarantee the smooth operation of the program
· Submit by the end of each month a monthly report regarding the beneficiaries- attendance
· Submit a monthly progress report.
· Submit at the end of the photography cycle a final report measuring the quality and impact of the workshop
1. Qualifications of the Provider
Person qualifications
· Relevant experience as photographer of at least 5 years.
· Relevant experience of at least 3 years with national and international NGO.
· Awareness of Human Rights and Refugee International Laws.
· Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
· Strong cross-cultural communication and resilience skills are very important.
· Excellent command of English and Arabic (speaking and writing), French an asset.
· Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues, proven problem solving and organizational skills.
· Rigorous, and polite.
· Respect of SIF values and mandate.
Ethic and professional practice
· Always respect of beneficiaries- confidentiality.
· Openness to working with refugees as well as with Lebanese beneficiaries.
· Always respect of beneficiaries- confidentiality.
· Address needs and requests in a professional way.
· Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.
· Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers.
· Always respect a refusal of treatment.
· Maintain confidentiality at all times.
· Always respect a refusal of participation.
· Respect and promote SIF-s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of SIF-s policies amongst the teams or partners.
