Selection of a firm for the realization of a good practice guide for the legal assistance of cases of gender-based violence
BackgroundThe Rule of Law III project is a joint project of UNDP, UN Women and UNMIKTH. This project is funded by the Joint Rule of Law Program to support, among other topics, the transversality of the gender approach in the daily work of the Haitian National Police; and in phase III of the project, it is planned toset up mechanisms for the prevention of gender-basedviolence at the border level, including the work of POLIFRONT against trafficking and trafficking in people in border areas. UN Women proposes, as part of the activities considered in the ROL III, the drafting of a guide of good practices for the legal assistance of cases of violencebased on gender. It will both highlight the difficulties encountered in the follow-upof the files and draw the lines of solution in the form of good practices to retain in the legal assistance of this type of case. Objectives of the consultation This consultation aims to produce a reference document of good practices forr legal assistance for cases of gender-based violence. This guide makes it possible to capitalize the experience of UN Women in the legal assistance as well in civil matters as in penal matter in order to popularize this expertise in the matter of follow-up for the respect of the human rights with regard to justice in Haiti. Targeted public : the guide will be designed to be destineda diverse public: General public and people affected by gender-based violenceLaw professionals: lawyers, legal assistants, magistrates, police officers, etc. Institutions and organizations to assist victims: women`s organizations, MCFDF, health center, human rights organizations, ... The content of the text will be developed inwith a strong legal argument. Inserts in Creole will allow to approach in a synthetic way and in a more accessible way the essential points for the general public.
