Invitation to prequalification for the british columbia ministry of forests, lands and natural resource operations and rural development (the ministry or the province) is charged with the stewardship of the province of british columbia's forest and range resources. This includes minimizing the loss to forest, range, and other natural resource values from wildfires.the bc wildfire service (bcws) manages the provincial wildfire response organization. A key component of wildfire response is the use of airtankers to assist with wildfire containment, suppression, and to support personnel on the ground. The purpose of this request for qualifications (rfq) is to identify qualified suppliers with the experience and capacity to provide a range of airtanker services in support of the province's wildfire response. The attached rfq provides further description of the expected corporate capability and commitments to provide these services and the rfq response requirements. Based on the review of the rfq responses, the province intends to issue one or more request for proposals (rfp) to qualified respondents, which may result in one or more contracts for the provision of airtanker services.
