Tenders are invited for Review of the Recruitment Process for Sacu Senior Executive Management Positions.

1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 The Southern African Customs Union (SACU) consists of five Member States, namely Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa. The SACU Secretariat was established in 2004 to administer and coordinate the activities of SACU institutions. More information is available on SACU’s website (http://www.sacu.int). 2. BACKGROUND 2.1 The SACU Secretariat has established in its organisational structure, various positions critical to the implementation of the Work Programme and to the attainment of the mandate of the organisation. Key among them are the Senior Executive Management positions, which include the Executive Secretary, Deputy Executive Secretary as well as Director and equivalent level positions. Of these positions, the Executive Secretary and Deputy Executive Secretary are political level appointments, undertaken by the SACU Council of Ministers. 2.2 The Senior Executive Management provides leadership and strategic guidance to the organisation, as well as capacity in the provision and fulfilment of the Key Priority Areas as well as the SACU Work Programme. 2.3 The Secretariat is desirous of reviewing the recruitment process of the Executive management to ensure that it is robust enough to produce the desired candidate.
