Description: The aim of this research project is to develop recommendations for action for optimized vegetation planning and adapted maintenance management along the rail in order to reduce the capacity restrictions caused by vegetation. For this purpose, the structural, structural and operational weak points associated with vegetation and the resulting possible impairments in the rail system should first be identified and assessed with regard to their potential impact on capacity. Spatial and thematic hotspots for capacity losses caused by vegetation and other damage are to be identified and their relevance assessed.
