Project Description : RDRA is about to embark on an exciting new phase of airport development which will include the widening of Runway 17-35 as well as the reconstruction of Taxiway Bravo and Apron I. The proposed improvements are being carried out in order to support heavier aircraft at the airport which requires the 30 m wide runway to be widened to 45 m in width.The proposed works will involve the following key activities and approximate quantities:Topsoil stripping: 24, 000 m3Earth excavation: 55, 000 m3Subdrains: 5, 500 mAirside Manholes: 45Granular Sub-base: 100, 000 tonnesGranular base: 40, 000 tonnesHMAC base: 12, 000 tonnesHMAC surface: 9, 000 tonnesAirfield Electrical including:• Trenching 2800 m• HI LED Edge Lights 90• MI LED Twy Lights 33• Associated cabling and pullpits• Relocate Signs 10• New guidance signs 2
