Background and Objective and Description of the MissionIn the context of the Coyah-Forecariah Road Rehabilitation Project, UNDP received funding from the African Development Bank to implement the sub-component on "Multifunctional Platforms (MTFPs) and Women's Empowerment". Prefectures of Coyah and Forecariah ". This subcomponentIt is part of the consideration of gender issues in the road infrastructure project that will cover these two areas. The prefectures of Coyah and Forcariah concerned by the road rehabilitation project are part of the six prefectures of Lower Guinea. with a population of 416, 803 inhabitants including 263, 192 women (RGPH3, 2014). This area coversfourteen (14) communes which are: Forcariah center, Benty, Kaback, Farmorah, Kakossa, Mafrinyah, Moussayah, Sikhourou, Allassoyah, Kalia, Central Coyah, Manah, Kouria and Wonkifong. The economic activities that are practiced there are agriculture, breeding, fishing, hunting and trade. These two prefectures also have plains and mangroves propices for the development of rice growing and market gardening. Women are very active in market gardening, palm oil extraction and marketing of agricultural products. However, climatic hazards combined with significant anthropogenic pressure with the degradation of soil and water resources due to habitat developmentcontribute to weakening the foundations of community development.In the rural context characterized by poverty, the impact of the Ebola virus disease and the socio-economic exclusion of women, UNDP with funding from the African Development Bank initiated a project to install multifunctional platforms around which will be developedopted for an integrated package of services aimed at women's empowerment, gender equity and poverty reduction, with the specific objectives of i) facilitating access to energy servicesin rural areas and easing the burden of domestic work women ; (ii) promote the diversification of economic and income-generating activitiess in favor...
