Description : The IFish project in close collaboration with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) will develop a data collection system for ecological and biodiversity indicators for fish and fisheries, tied to project activities in the target districts. Alongside collecting new data, currently available data on the ecological status of aquatic habitat as well as occurrence and abundance of fish species will be collated and used to prepare thematic maps to support assessments of the status of inland aquatic habitats, for the 5 project Districts. To properly store, analyse and use the data, an on-line database, linked with GIS will be developed: an Integrated Inland Fisheries Geographic Information System (IIFGIS).
