STIB uses different types of rails on its rail network: throat rails, Vignole rails, counter rails, overhead crane rails and contact rails. STIB is looking for potential suppliers who can ensure the regular delivery of these rails. The quantities (historically / - 2, 500 t per year) are not predictable because they depend on replacements for maintenance and-repair, as well as investment work for network extensions. STIB is considering a JIT (Just In Time) approach, with regular deliveries as needed and with the intention of keeping its own stock as low as possible. New applicants must answer the questionnaire (provided on request) and, where applicable, have their products tested.
