Expression of Interest are Invited for Provision of Consultancy Services to Conduct a Comprehensive Feasibility Study and Preliminary Design for the Development of New Mzuzu Airport in the Republic of MalawI

The objectives of the assignment are to:
a. Investigate and determine the technical and economic feasibility, and the environmental and social impacts of constructing a new Airport in Mzuzu;
b. To estimate the nature and volume of traffic forecasts for airport use by analyzing traffic data, and the current volume of freight and passenger traffic in the city;
c. To evaluate climate risks and include climate change mitigation and adaption measures in the selection of project design options. As well as describing the climatic conditions of the study area with details of the prevailing winds, precipitation and temperature;
d. To determine the most optimal site for the airport;
e. Deliver a masterplan plan and prepare the plan for the construction of the new airport facilities;
f. To prepare preliminary engineering designs and cost estimates, using current prevailing costs for similar works and by estimating work quantities
