Dunedin City Councillors signed off on the 2018-28 10 year plan for Dunedin City in June 2018. This 10 year plan for the City includes a variety of significant capital projects to be delivered, including the Bridge to the Steamer Basin, Central City Upgrade, Portobello Road Widening, Tertiary Precinct Upgrade, South Dunedin Storm Water improvements and more which will equate to a capital spend of approximately $500 million over the ten year period.
In order for Council to deliver these major projects, the need for a dedicated Project Management Office (PMO) and the ability to engage Project Managers as and when required to drive the delivery of these projects has been identified. Council will have limited ability to deliver these significant capital projects with current resourcing and capability, and have identified the creation of a dedicated PMO as a vital opportunity to support the delivery of the 10 year plan.
