Prequalification of General Contractors for the University of Waterloo Bus Station, Ring Road to Phillip Street, City of Waterloo

Online submissions will be received by the undersigned until 2:00:59 p.m., local time, February 5, 2019 for:
Prequalification of General Contractors for a tender for the University of Waterloo Bus Station. The project involves construction of a new transit roadway 300m in length and a transit access roadway 110m in length, including the removal of existing asphalt roadway / parking lot and concrete curb, earth excavation including soil remediation, granular material, storm sewer installation, concrete and asphalt paving, and installation of concrete unit pavers. Modification of the intersections at Phillip Street and at the Ring Road will also be done as part of this contract, including relocation of a pedestrian refuge island, curb and storm sewer.
A shelter canopy will be constructed in segments on both sides of the transit roadway, for a total length of approximately 310m. This shelter canopy will be primarily steel construction, featuring integrated lighting, electrical and communication ducts to support digital signage, ticket machines, cameras and shelter heaters. Drainage piping will also be integrated into the canopies. There will be steel and glass shelters at several locations under the canopy, along with site furniture and signage.
Electrical and communications equipment will also be installed as part of this contract, including electrical cabinets and racks, switchgear, an uninterruptible power supply, wireless routers, surveillance cameras, and switching equipment.
