Tenders are invited for Port Royal Street Coastal Revetment Project - Kingston (#073563).

The Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) was established in 1996 as a component of the Government of Jamaica-s strategy to reduce poverty. The Fund promotes, appraises, finances and supervises social and economic infrastructure projects, including schools, roads, agro-processing, water, sanitation, health centres, community centres, homes for children and the elderly, as well as, vocational skills training, counselling, parenting, life education and organizational strengthening.

The Government of Jamaica has received a loan from the World Bank towards the cost of the JAMAICA DISASTER VULNERABILITY REDUCTION PROJECT (JDVRP). The Jamaica Social Investment Fund as the executing agency in collaboration with the National Works Agency (NWA) intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to cover payments under the following contract:

The Jamaica Social Investment Fund now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Port Royal Street Coastal Revetment Project, Kingston. The scope of works includes but is not limited to site preparation and earthworks, revetment and retaining wall works, amenities and utilities, roadworks, beach and groynes, drainage works and parking lots. Construction period is Eighteen (18) Months.

Bids MUST be accompanied by Bid Security in the amount of Four Hundred and Fifty-Five Thousand Jamaican Dollars (J$455, 000.00).


1. ALL Bidders (including overseas firms) must be registered with the National Contracts Commission (NCC) at the time of bid opening in the category of “Civil Engineering” in Grade 1 AND “General Road Works” in Grade 1. (See www.ncc.gov.jm/ncc).

2. ALL Bidders (including overseas firms) must be tax compliant at bid opening and a valid Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) or Tax Compliance Letter (TCL) must be presented at the bid opening. (See www.jamaicatax.gov.jm)

3. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank-s Guidelines Procurement of Goods, Works, and Non-Consulting Services: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (January 2011), and is opened to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the guidelines.

Jamaica Social Investment Fund at the address below from Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 8:30am to Tuesday,
October 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested
bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee
of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars (J$2, 500.00) for printed copy in cash or certified cheque made payable
to the Jamaica Social Investment Fund. All bids must be submitted in printed copy. Original and Copy of
the bid must be submitted in accordance with Instruction to Bidders.
5. Bids must be delivered to the address below by 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Late bids
will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders- representatives who choose to attend at the address
belowat 12:10 p.m on Tuesday, October 23, 2018.
