this rfp is issued by bc hydro to obtain proposals for penstock recoating and optional work for penstock modification and related services, as well as possible recoating of other large structures and equipment (such as turbines, gates, trash racks and other civil and mechanical assets), for various bc hydro projects. The work may also include the provision of apprenticeship, pre-employment and similar training programs and other development opportunities for local first nations.

the rfp includes draft work orders for br1 penstocks 1 to 4 ("br1") and br2 penstock 2 ("br2"), which are the projects anticipated to proceed first under this rfp. Proponents may submit proposals in respect of br1 or br2, or both, at their sole discretion.

the contract is expected to be for an initial term of five (5) years, which may be extended for up to five (5) year(s) through one or more contract extensions, for a potential total term of ten (10) years.
