Despite its immense natural potential, Guinea, with a population estimated at more than 10 million inhabitants, remains among the least developed countries and is among the fragile states. According to the 2018 Human Development Report published by UNDP, Guinea is ranked 175th / 188 against 179th / 187 in 2013. Even though the country has achievedprogress in the areaof access to education and health, no MDGs have been achieved by 2015. This assessment is attributable to the governance system that has led to numerous crises that have weakened public institutions. and limited the country's capacity to mobilize the investment and know-how necessary for its economic and social transformation.It is with this assessment that Guinea, like the other nations of the world, has aligned itself with the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as with the Union's Agenda 2063. The Agenda 2030 is based on a universal program articulated around 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the period 2015-2030. This programaims at: (i) eradicating hunger and extreme poverty, (ii) reducing inequalities within and between states, (iii) achieving gender equality, (iv) improving the management of water and energy and (v) act quickly against climate change. According to analysts, achieving these goals would cost between 3, 300 and 4, 500 billion dollars (between 3, 000 and 4, 100 billion euros) a year.To be at the rendezvous of this important agenda by 2030, after the end of the epidemic of the Ebola virus disease that had consequences devastating on the economic and social level, the Country, with the support of the TFPs, in particular the UNDP in partnership with the ADB, has a vision of a Guinea EmergeHorizon 2040.
