Tenders are invited for National Communications Consultant.

UNICEF Moldova is looking for a communications consultant to assist with planning and organizing communication activities around UNICEF supported #EndViolence initiatives.

The consultancy is part time. The number of days per month may vary, depending on the office needs. The consultant is expected to work up to 10 full working days per month and complete some of the tasks remotely, using his or her own laptop and internet connection.

Objectives of the consultancy:

· Plan, conceptualize and organize communication events (media field visits, press clubs, individual interviews) around UNICEF supported #EndViolence initiatives;

· Develop communication and advocacy kits (presentations, FAQ, fact sheets, media advisory, briefing notes, backgrounders etc.) for the launch events related to UNICEF #EndViolence activities, namely World Largest Lesson, the Super Hero Comics and Youth Talk;

· Identify media visibility opportunities, organize interviews, develop stories across multiple forms of social media in order to deliver unique pieces of content in each channel;

· Develop social media calendars and content packaging for the launch events related to UNICEF #EndViolence activities;

· Pitch #EndViolence stories to journalists, editors at newspapers, magazines, radio or television stations;

· Support in conceptualizing and developing #EndViolence visibility materials (banners, branded t-shirts, folders, pens, caps, etc.);

· Produce multimedia content to the UNICEF in Moldova web site and for the regional and global UNICEF sites;

· Organize on a portable storage device the material in a separate comprehensive database with all materials produced during the assignment; the “file info” should contain the date, place, and a brief description of the initiative;

· Ensure the implementation of other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Communication Section.

Qualifications and experience:

· Advanced University degree in journalism, public relations or communication;

· A demonstrated minimum of 10 years of professional experience in journalism, public relations or communication, preferably with a focus on social issues, human rights or child rights;

· Strong communication skills (written and oral), sensitivity and high ethical standards are a necessity;

· Proven familiarity with UNICEF in Moldova or other UN agencies and/or matters related to violence against children is desirable;

· Excellent knowledge of English, Romanian and Russian is required.
