Description: As part of a main study, the 3D underground seismic measuring system developed at GFZ will be used for targeted seismic exploration on the 700, 574 and 553 m levels as well as with receivers in the area of ​​the helix. The preliminary study carried out in March 2020 provided information about the range and resolution of the measuring system. This main study aims to explore the structures in the vicinity of the salt dome.

For the seismic measurements in the Asse II mine, the 3D underground seismic measuring system, which has already been tried and tested several times in salt, will be used. This measuring system allows a 3D distribution of the excitation and receiver points and thus enables a 3D image of structures in the vicinity of the mine building.
