Tenders are invited for Legal Advisor.

Consultant Scope of Work

Period of Performance: 1 year (September 1, 2018 - September 30, 2019)

The Consultant will work for one year

Background: Legal Advisor will work closely with HR department to ensure all legal operations are relevant with the Lebanese Labor Law.

Purpose: The purpose of this scope of work is to support the procurement of the services of a legal advisor to ensure that all legal operations are running parallel with the ministry of Labor.

Task Description: Consultant will serve as the Legal Advisor in Lebanon. Specifically, Consultant will complete the following tasks:

1. To obtain and maintain work permits and residencies for expat staff.
2. Managing the legal actions falling within the framework of IMC-s operations.
3. Attending meetings held with others - General security, Ministries, etc.
4. Consultation on contracts and agreements for employment, consultants, volunteers, facilities, vendors and any lease agreements.
5. Liaise and represent IMC to various legal entities in Lebanon.
6. Represent IMC in court for any disputes.
7. Adjusting all official documents

Deliverables/Due Dates/Payment Schedule:

Deliverable Due Date
1. To obtain and maintain work permits and residencies for expat staff. (Within a period of 4-5 months)
2. Making pleadings on behalf of IMC in all administrative hearings.
3. Visiting IMC-s main office, as appropriate, to effectively facilitate Attorney-s provision of services hereunder (Up on request)
4. Providing legal advice in detail
5. Representing IMC in front of any court on matters related to any lawsuit against IMC
6. Preparing settlement agreement as per the directions provided by IMC
7. Ensuring the settlement agreement is legally enforceable
8. In case of settlement concluding the agreement between the contender of the lawsuit and IMC and confirming to IMC that the Lawsuit has been withdrawn whenever that happens

Location of Work: Consultant resides in Lebanon and will conduct her/his work in his own company.
