Tender Details

Individual International Consultancy to Support CRC@30 Consultations and Lao Generation 2030 Forum.

UNICEF works in some of the world-s toughest places, to reach the world-s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child,

20 November 2019 will mark the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC30), one of the world-s most-ratified human rights treaty. This important milestone provides an opportunity to secure fresh commitments to fulfilling children-s rights and generating new opportunities for children and young people through concrete action at country level.

On the 30th anniversary of the CRC, the Government of Lao PDR, UNICEF and development partners will take stock of how the world and the country in particular have changed since the CRC was adopted. Thirty years on, child rights have not changed, they have no expiry date. But childhood has changed. Childhood in 2019 looks very different from childhood in 1989 and it will look very different again in another 30 years. Global trends, like digital technologies and environmental change, among others, are changing childhood fast. Today-s children face new threats to their rights, but they also have new opportunities to realise their rights. In 2019, we must look ahead to the future of childhood and commit to urgent, concrete action to protect and promote the rights of every child, now, and in future generations.
