Description : The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched a Request for Expression of Interest for the provision of "Improving scientific information on the fisheries for tuna and tuna-like species in the Indian Ocean".The overall goal for this project is to improve scientific information and advise the management of tuna, tuna-like and bycatch species caught in IOTC fisheries. The specific outcomes of this project include improved scientific information and estimates on age, growth, and better understanding of reproductive biology of tropical tunas (bigeye, yellowfin and skipjack), swordfish and blue shark.
