Expression of Interest are invited for Reintegration and Recovery Program (RRP) Phase V-Implementation of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Activities In River Gee and Maryland Counties.
Background
Welthungerhilfe was established in 1962. It is today one of the largest private organizations working in the area of development cooperation and humanitarian aid in Germany. Non-profit-seeking, non-partisan and nondenominational. Donations from the population at large fund our work in Africa, Asia and Latin America. In addition, Welthungerhilfe receives grants from the Federal German Government and other international donors.
Welthungerhilfe has been implementing the Reintegration and Recovery Program (RRP) covering four (4) phases and now implementing at the 5th phase. The program is been funded by the Government of Germany through the German Development Bank (Kfw) in collaboration with the Government of Liberia (GoL).
Overview
As RRP V is the last phase of the past RRPs, it is expected that program exit strategies are integrated during implementation of this program. As a result, the Service Provider shall be expected to employ all the agriculture extension services ensuring a sustainable food and nutrition security achieved in the intervention areas. With its focus on improved agriculture production and quality, the RRP V puts an equal emphasis on marketing, processing and value chain development.
Through the RRPV, we seek to further improve water and sanitation coverages as well as hygiene improvement of entire communities beyond households to achieve open defecation free region and improve access to water and sanitation services in the targeted districts in Grand Gedeh County. In line with government national sector policies, the anticipated service provider along with the requisite government line ministries and agencies will lead the implementation of RRPV WASH in School- (WinS Software) and WASH in communities through trainings and technical guidance to targeted communities and school-based groups.
As RRP V is the last phase of the RRP program, it is expected that project exit strategies are integrated into programming, therefore, the Service Provider is expected to, along with the requisite government line ministries and agencies, lead the implementation of RRPV WASH in School-(WinS Software) and WASH in communities through trainings and technical guidance to communities and school based groups respectively in River Gee and Maryland Counties.

Description of Assignment
The program now invites reputable national Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with demonstrated experiences and capacities in the area of Water, sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) including demonstrated experiences rolling out both Community Led Total sanitation (CLTS) and Participatory Hygiene, and Sanitation Transformation (PHAST) approaches.
The interested CSO also maintains currently a responsible management system relative to program and financial management policies, procedures and practices.
The service contract to be awarded is intended for implementation of WASH supported activities including CLTS and PHAST implementation in selected communities in River Gee County (Chedepo, Tienpo, Gbeapo, Potupo, Toubo, Sarbo and Webbo Districts) and Nyorken Administrative District (Barrabo II); Maryland County. Such service contractor depending on its commitment of relable performances, proven actions towards growth and sustainability can become a partner for medium to long term partnerships with Welthungerhilfe.
