The Republic of Guinea has obtained a total loan of € 22.95 million from the Islamic Development Bank to finance the Gaoual, Koundara and Mali Integrated Rural Development Project.

The main objective of the project is to help the Guinean Government to guarantee an efficient and sustainable agriculture, helping to improve living conditions in rural areas.

The main results of this project will be the sustainable improvement of the conditions of production, processing and conservation of marketing of agricultural products.

by increasing producers` incomes, with the aim of promoting sustainable

modes of development of the environment.

The project comprises three (3) components, namely: A- Intensified intensification of agricultural production;

B- Access to post-harvest facilities and market linkages C- Project management and coordination

The acquisitions of Goods and Works will be carried out in accordance with the Guidelines for Procurement financed by the Islamic Development Bank (May 2009 edition revised in February 2012). Contracts for consulting services will be awarded in accordance with the Guidelines for the Use of Consultants for projects financed by the Islamic Development Bank (May 2009 revised in February 2012).
