Description : In today`s world, both women and men—and girls and boys—all over the world are speaking up for themselves and for those who have been silenced, stigmatized, and shamed for far too long. Many are from a new generation. They are seizing the moment to reimagine economies, societies, and political systems so that they uphold human rights and achieve gender equality, leaving no one behind.



In 2020, it will be 25 years since world leaders adopted the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (Beijing+25), which set out how to remove the systemic barriers that hold women back from equal participation in all areas of life, whether in public or in private. As the global community marks Beijing+25, a comprehensive review will take place at a national, regional and global level that involves all stakeholders, including government, civil society organisations, youth, private sector, entities of the United Nations system, regional and international organizations, academia, media, and other relevant stakeholders. The Beijing+25 reviews will mobilize all women and men, of all ages, around a new and renewed dialogue for change and actions to prevent and eliminate all forms of inequality against all women and girls.
