The project aims to amelisustainably provide access to drinking water and sanitation in remote areas and rural communities in the departments of Oueme, Atlantique and Borgou in Benin, while promoting the creation of social growth poles -economic infrastructure built that servedto the extent of their ability, to provide additional power to the population, to generate additional income for households and to ensure their food security. The project consists of the following components: Component 1: Water Infrastructure Constructionin rural areas, including socio-economic growth poles Component 2: Intermediation activities Component 3: Project management and coordination activities IDB-financed contracts will be executed in accordance with the procedures specified in the Guidelines for the transfer of funds.are financed by the Islamic Development Bank (November 2006 edition) and are open to all candidates who fulfill the conditions stipulated in the guidelines.
