Tenders are invited for Gender Audit Consultant.
Protection International wishes to conduct a gender audit to promote organizational learning on mainstreaming gender practically and effectively. provide input for PI-s Global Strategy 2019-23 and to identify needed tools such as policy and programming indicators that can be developed in the next 5 years.
Scope
The global gender audit aims to investigate and assess the understanding of gender within PI and amongst PI staff members globally. The consultant should establish a baseline, identify critical gaps and challenges and recommend ways of addressing them as well as documenting good practices.
Methodology
An internal PI gender support team will be established to support the external consultant with information as well as logistical aspects.
There are three key areas of analysis:
· Gender issues in the context of the field and HO teams, and existing gender expertise
· Knowledge management within the teams and external perception of gender equality in PI-s public image and external intervention
· Organizational culture
Deliverables
· An outline of the gender audit methodology and timeline (in English) to be undertaken for approval of PI
· A preliminary report (in English) detailing the initial findings of the consultants- research and fieldwork.
· 3 hours workshop on gender mainstreaming in programs in October (week 42) in Brussels
· A report (in English) including, at least: the purpose and objectives of the gender audit, the research issues, the methodology, presentation and analysis of findings, a set of recommendations and a executive summary.
Required Qualifications of the gender audit facilitators
· Sound experience in conducting participatory gender audits;
· Experience with international human rights NGOs;
· Sound knowledge of gender concepts, and firm commitment of equality of opportunity;
· Knowledge of results-based management practices;
· Solid, acquired training and facilitation skills;
· Fluent in English and ability to work in French and/or Spanish;
· Understanding of the specific needs of a multicultural organisation;
· Availability to travel long distance
Starting date: 9 July 2018
Timeline
· Outline: two calendar weeks after signature of the contract
· Final audit report by 31 October 2018 and preliminary report by 11 October 2018.
